One of those web sites I've been returning to more often in the past few months is Slate. I've probably watched it more in the past month than I have in years.
It's not because I just discovered it or anything. I actually have an umbrella in the entry-way emblazoned with Slate's logo. It's something they sent me years ago when I was one of the few folks who actually subscribed to it during that experiment. I've been a long-time, but occasional reader. For some reason, I've just found it more compelling in the past month or two. Salon has always been my preferred site. I also subscribed to that. Unfortunately, I can't get access to it. That hasn't stopped them from continuing to bill me. But it has blocked me from reading anything there in more than a year.
And there are other sites as well on my recent immersion. I'm sure I'll mention them in time... In time.
I mention Slate now because my recent visits there actually prompted me to post a few things on their message boards, called The Fray. And those rare postings led to this. Postings there are just as solipsistic as postings on an unlinked blog like this one, so I figured I might as well give this a shot.
To seed the reflections, I'll offer two of my recent postings from The Fray on the subject of Space...
